What is a Blog and Why should I have one?

Tuesday Mar 31, 2009

A business blog is a type of self managed website. As a blogger you can easily add new pages or posts (articles, news items etc) to your blog site and communicate with visitors through comments. As you educate your clients and prospects, you will become recognised as an expert and as an expert you will see many benefits, including:

  • You’ll be able to command higher fees
  • There will be Lower price resistance from Clients
  • You’ll get loads more referrals, easily
  • You’ll convert prospects into clients easier
  • You’ll gain the respect of peers and clients alike
  • Get loads more free media publicity and media attention
  • You’ll be asked to speak at industry and business events

It’s a given that those who shine in their industries as experts are the “go- to” people. They are the ones that get called on by media, get asked to speak at events and that clients beg to work with!

Some more Benefits of Blogging

A blog is easy to set up & maintain: And it’s even easier when you have someone to lead the way and show you step by step how to do what you need to do. The Business Blogging Program will provide you with all you need to set up, manage and market your very own blog. And if you don’t already have a website then you’ll soon have your own Blog-Site - a website and blog all in one!

Search Engines loves Blogs. If your prospects are not finding you on Google, then you are missing out on a huge potential client base. Blogging software (we’ll be using Wordpress in this program) is Search Engine friendly and with a few simple tweaks that we’ll teach you, you can have a search engine optimised website easily and quickly! Plus because blogs generally have loads of content, and you’ll be adding more content all the time Google is going to love your website and you’ll get lots more traffic from them.

A blog is a communication channel. Your clients and prospects can comment on the articles and posts on your website and therefore provide feedback and direction for you. It builds community and loyalty.

A blog develops with you. The template that displays your blog can be updated with small or large changes at anytime and you can continue to update your blog with content weekly or however often you like. You’re in control.  …

Whilst all of the above and many more benefits of Blogging are true, the fact remains that most small business owners and service professionals still do not have a Blog (or for some of you not even a website) and many like yourself who are interested in Blogging simply do not know where to start.

That is the simple reason why I have created the Business Blogging Program so that you too can benefit from Blogging for your Business.

The 2009 Business Blogging Program launches tonight as I broadcast a Free Teleseminar on the topic of Blogging for Business - www.webchameleon.com.au/bbp-preview and check out www.businessbloggingprogram.com for program details and to register for the 6 week training program.
