1. Ensure your website is a positive reflection of your business: Create the right first impression for you and/or your business. Most visitors to your website want answers quickly. Statistics show you have just 10-15 seconds OR LESS to create an impression. Make sure your opening copy (words) entice the visitor to read more or take some action.
2. Provide relevant & quality content: Ensure your website clearly represents your business offerings and is easy to read. A website provides you with the opportunity to get across more of a message than a simple brochure so use the opportunity wisely. Include articles, case studies etc to create interest & build credibility.
3. Build Trust: Make it easy for visitors to learn more about you. Most visitors want to know that their are real people behind the webiste so include easy to find contact details (should be no more than 1 click away from any page). It is best to include a phone number as well as a contact form. Include case studies, testimonials and other samples of your work. Include a Privacy Policy and Security information (Online shops).
4. Clear & Easy Navigation: Ensure visitors can easily find their way around your website, with a clear path between pages. Have no unfinished pages or dead links on your website.
5. Fast Loading: All images and content should be optimised for speed on the web so that your pages load quickly and easily. Be considerate of those who are unable to access high speed internet.
6. Search Engine Optimised: It’s important to be found easily on the search engines by your target market & prospective new clients. Research relevant keywords that your customers and prospects would use to find you, and implement a plan to ensure your website is found for your chosen keywords.
7. Call to Action: Make your goal to generate a response or action from your website visitors. Offer incentives and a clear ‘call to action’ (tell them what you want them to do). Integrate Email Marketing into your Website and include an Email Newsletter sign up form on your website.
